Welcome to the CMU 2010 Web Site
The Vision Plan: CMU 2010 is Central Michigan University’s current five-year strategic plan, originally implemented by the Institutional Strategic Planning Committee during the 2006 fiscal year and extending until June 30, 2010. The plan was created with the input and ongoing support from the Board of Trustees, as well as the university community at large, to serve as the blueprint for CMU’s future. The adoption and revision of a vision statement developed by the Board of Trustees was followed by the development of The Vision Plan: CMU 2010, with its five institutional priorities.
The Vision Statement
“CMU will be a nationally prominent university known for integrity, academic excellence, research and creative activity, and public service.” - Adopted by the Board of Trustees 4-22-04, revision adopted 3-3-05
The Five Institutional Priorities
I. Create an environment that supports teaching and learning as the top priority.
II. Provide educational experiences and programs that enhance diversity and global perspectives.
III. Enhance the infrastructure for research and creative activity.
IV. Provide service for the public good.
V. Strengthen the institution’s culture of integrity.
Vision Funds continue to be distributed through a competitive process distributed $5 million on projects which addressed the CMU 2010 priorities through sound initiatives and measurable outcomes. Furthermore, 18 key performance indicators are used to measure our efforts to achieve each priority in the plan as a whole. To learn more about any of these areas or the supporting infrastructure of CMU's strategic plan or to learn how the plan has evolved over time through updates or our newsletters, follow any number of links identified within this narrative. The purpose of this website is to ensure the implementation of CMU 2010 is transparent and open.
